What are our aims?
Lockerbrook was created by volunteers from Sheffield Woodcraft Folk in 1964 to provide a place for young people from inner cities to have an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to be confident in the outdoors. Today we continue this aim by providing schools and youth groups with a supportive and inclusive approach to outdoor education. We are licenced by the Adventure Activities Licencing Service to provide a wide range of activities as well as a great location to explore the moorland environment of the Peak District. We welcome all groups who share our commitment to our cooperative principles and are a great location for retreats and gatherings for all ages.
We are Woodcraft Folk
The Woodcraft Folk is a youth-led movement which started in 1925. It aims to empower young people to come together to have fun, learn, reflect and to gain confidence and skills to take action for social change. We do this through our group nights, camps and our centres which are all underpinned by a democratic structure led by young people.

Safety at Lockerbrook
We support young people and adults to have transformative outdoor learning experiences with a balanced approach to risk management. Lockerbrook Farm holds an Adventure Activities Licence from the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) provider reference number R0290 awarded for the period 20/12/2021 – 20/12/2023.
